A true high-pitched voice

The cricothyroid muscle plays a vital role in producing a high-pitched voice, and flexibility of the larynx is a necessary condition that must be met to be able to move the muscles properly.
However, if you only focus on the cricothyroid muscle to improve your high-pitched vocals, you may have a problem.
A man recently had a surgery called Laryngeal Framework Surgery type IV. This surgery changes a man’s voice to a woman’s voice.
Laryngeal Framework Surgery type IV reduces the distance between the cricoid cartilage and the thyroid cartilage by using a wire or a titanium bridge. The cricothyroid articulation is then bent more to be able to extend the vocal cord, in turn resulting in higher-pitched voice.
This surgery is easy physically, but the physician needs to be highly skilled and experienced to be able to achieve the results and expectations of the patient surrounding the high-pitched vocal range.
However, there are some negative reports from inexperienced Surgeons performing Laryngeal Framework Surgery type IV. These reports state that patients have suffered post surgical problems, not had their expectations met and claimed to have received an expected mixed voice.
You can certainly get a high-pitched voice if you have a successful surgery.
But with unsuccessful surgery the voice may be left sounding flat, like a robot, thin, cannot resonate well, or completely impossible to control or change vocal pitches.
Even if you want the ability and qualities of a high-pitched voice, you cannot attract people and there are many risks if you choose the surgical route. I would like to help you get an attractive and good high-pitched voice without surgery.
The resonance chamber is very important for high voice production, just as much as the movement of the cricothyroid muscle. Keep in mind that the resonance chamber is what makes the high-pitched voice sound rich and full. The soft palate and the epiglottis are also especially important also, and if you can control and exercise these, you can make a great high-pitched voice.
It is possible to mix high-pitched with low-pitched to be able to make deep and wide high-pitched tones.
Understanding the aspects and mechanics of the voice will aid in the production of a true high-pitched voice.

Note1:Please mix high-pitched, low-pitched and middle-pitched tones often. Even when you have a conversation. When you let out the high-pitched voice, try to emphasize the element of high-pitched and mix a little low-pitched with it.
When you let out the low-pitched voice, try to emphasize the element of low-pitched and mix a little high-pitched with it. If you focus and work on those intonation techniques – you will get an attractive voice!

Note2:A lot of people have asked me, “How do I train the cricothyroid muscle?”
If I touch their cricothyroid muscle, I can immediately know if they use it properly or not.
In fact in my experience I had found out that a lot of people have a thin and weak cricothyroid muscle. Whereas, singers and people who exercise their voice often possess a really fat cricothyroid muscle.
When I check this muscle, I touch between the thyroid cartilage and cricoid cartilage under the thin cricothyroid muscle. People who have a thin and weak cricothyroid muscle usually have hardened muscles around the larynx. Unfortunately, you cannot train the cricothyroid muscle when it is in this condition of hardening. Training in a bad condition can result in muscle strain, possible inflammation and/or discomfort. If a person had been using their cricothyroid muscle properly it is possible to train and maintain (softness and flexibility) those muscles, by simply expressing strong/medium fluctuation techniques in intonation often when having general conversation.
Therefore, please make sure you have the right conditions met and environment present to be able to move the cricothyroid articulation before any kind of intense or daily training.

Note3:Some people notice the throat is hardened if they sing a song in a high-pitched voice. This hardening is a natural habit of the muscles, not a medical disease.
The reason why this issue happens is unknown. But if you find out which specific muscle is hardened and give it massage this will stretch and relax the muscle, which prepares and preps the muscle for future training.
