A hoarse voice due to LDP

When the larynx is positioned in so deep it presses the lesser horn of cartilage, making the arytenoid cartilage forcibly slide and rotate. Those forced sliding and rotating movements cause leaking air and a hoarse voice when the glottis is opening.
LDP is the cause of the hoarse voice.
If you have the above mentioned issue or symptoms, you should take suitable treatment. Treatments and therapy will vary, depending on the severity of the LDP or type(upper part or descensus).
If you are concerned about having a hoarse voice, went to see doctor, and got the results that, ‘Your glottis is slightly opened,’ it’s more than likely that the hoarseness is due to LDP. Following such a diagnosis, you should check your external laryngeal at once.

The laryngeal ventricle from a musical perspective

The vocal fold is in the thyroid cartilage, and the five resonance chambers are in the laryngeal ventricle.
A resonance chamber is actually very small, and located between the vocal fold and the vestibular fold(false vocal cord). This primary place determines the sound of the voice.
The shape of the thyroid cartilage differs greatly between individuals. These differences can be overall size, shape width (obtuse), and density.
The individual variability of the thyroid cartilage affects the shape of the laryngeal ventricle which in turn changes sound ability.
In my personal opinion, if the thyroid cartilage is big and wide, then the vocal fold is short. The space of the vocal fold would be large, giving the advantage of being able to let out a voice capable of both the high-register and low-register ranges.
